Day 11

The hubs and I watched the Daytona 500 Sunday night so there was no organizing for me... Instead we talked about the house we want to build ( since Craig got the job we were praying for) we could possibly break ground on a new house this year! Super excited I hope it all works out!

Also I have been doing Zumba on our Wii. I will be the first to say...I hate to exercise...but I love the results and the feeling afterwards. Zumba kicks my butt and I only do twenty minutes of it (pretty embarrassing) and feel like passing out.

At my job all I do is sit! I need some activity and my body has told me this with tacking on some extra poundage I am not happy with so I am changing my eating habits and exercising!
Ok back to organization. Another area in my home that needed some help was my kitchen drawers. I realized this trying to go through and find..anything!

I had so many spoons, ladles, clips and measuring cups that I have never even used! So they went elsewhere. I do understand everyone has to have their "junk drawer" but it can still be organized where you can find things!

Here is there finished product

I separated the drawers into normal cooking ware, then one for baking then the "junk" drawer. I do want to find some little trays or baskets or some sort of separaters to make it even more organized!

I am confident I could find some at the Dollar Tree.

Anyways its time for American Idol..woo!

Organizing Day 10

I think one of the most used places in a home are the coffee/end tables in the living room. Mine were scattered with anything and everything and in desperate need of some organization. We have three tables in my living room

Each one more unorganized than the next. I'm trying to get the huubs involved some but he is not to crazy about moving things from where he knows they are or throwing things away but I know all of this organization is growing him...it just might take a little longer...lol!

Anyways this is what I ended up with...again I know I say it all the time but an organized house makes me feel so much more at ease.

The black binder is where I keep all the bills and it has a calendar to keep it all organized. Its great I got this one at Walmart in their business supplies aisle.They have different styles but this one fit for us because it can kind of go anywhere I need it to. It was $20.

Day 8 & 9

I have slacked the past few days so Im gonna double up today! I have been putting off the real scary parts in my home...those being my laundry room and spare bedroom closet/room. So I decided hey I need to organize my coupons and recipes. The coupons were in a semi organized binder but it is an eye sore to take to the store...

People stare thinking I'm an extreme couponer ( I wish) due to this I have not used it in a few months and all these coupons have expired. I decided to get a small coupon organizer to keep in my car or purse. It is so much better to use. I found this at the dollar tree for, you guessed it $1.. I love that store. If you use coupons go get one!!!

My recipes were a mess! They were shoved in a basket by my sink and all the ones I had wrote down or printed off were just sticking out. Take a look.

I want a little shelf to put my books on but I'll have to find one later. After going through papers and recipe books I have never opened they now sit nicely in front of the window.





Still not sure what I'm going to get into tomorrow...I might get brave and tackle the laundry room!

Day 7!

The dreaded pan cabinet...Let me just say I dont have alot of room for for my pans..so I kind of have an excuse. Just one cabinet is not enough!

See!

I think this cabinet is missing something..oh I know a shelf! That would help the organization more. But I do have a wire rack I bought from Walmart it was probably $5...it has been hiding in the above mess. Now I am actually using it correctly..lol!

I am no longer afraid to open the door thinking it will all spill out!

The more I organize the better and more relaxed I feel. Its amazing how little things can make a huge difference!



Day 6

Last night I decided to do organize my kitchen cart. It has become at sort of "catch all" for everything random in the kitchen. Its original purpose was for extra counter/cabinet space because we have very little and this is what had become of it

Another mess in the house! It was such an eye sore. It only took a few minutes to get this all organized and it made a world of difference!

Clutter free is the way to be!

Tonight I will tackle the dreaded pan cabinet!

Organizing...Day 5

So as I was putting my dishes away today and I realized how much tupperware and rubbermaid bowls and lids I have. I have TOO MANY! I made up my mind to start going through it all. Here is what I started off with

I also realized that a big part of organizing is throwing things away/donating to somewhere else. It didnt take very long to go through it all and now my cupboard is so much more managable! I only kept my nice pink lid rubbermaid and my pyrex.

Also my Bestie and I are starting a review blog on Monday! We will review anything and everything from restaurants in our town to different product we use everyday..cant wait!

Day 4 of Organization

Last night I decided to organize my jewelry/the tops of my dressers. Most of my jewelry was on my dressers so thats why they were organized too!

This is another embarrassing mess in my house. I am thinking that these pictures will keep me from letting all of this getting out of control again! I got rid of a bunch of jewelry. I have it all in a box so my friends can have first dibs on it before it is long gone! Also all of my jewelry is on this above over the door jewelry organizer. I love it it! I found it on LTD for abot $30.

Ok so here is the after

Tonight I am taking a night off from the organizing...I have some major places left in my house. I have to decided which is next.

I am watch the Whitney Houston special on ABC...so sad that someones life can be so overpowered by drugs..it is such a waste of once in a life time talent :(

Day 3 of Organization

So today I decided to tackle my insanely messy spice/baking cabinet...here's proof

I pretty much just found what I needed then tossed them back up there for later. I am so happy it is organized now! Everything has a designated spot. I do need another stair organizer like I have for the spices. I think that will help for my baking stuff but the new system will work for now! By the way I found mine at Kitchen Collections it was $7 and worth every penny! I am sure that these are at any kitchen store or aisle!

The left is breaksfast mixes, like muffins, oatmeal and pancakes. The middle is all my baking needs and the right is all of my spices which I can now find! And since I can find them I wont buy doubles anymore (I did find a few :/)

Anyways all of this orgaization makes me feel great!

Valentines Day and Day 2 of Organization

 The hubby and I have spent a nice Valentines together!

I made some heart shaped cinnamon rolls for breakfast :)

I thought this was such a cute idea!

I saw this on Pinterest and I had to do this for him

I can write on this with a dry erase marker and change it whenever I want. I thought it was really sweet! He got this, some of his favorite candy and a card!

I will get mine when he gets home from school..lol

So today I figured since I was cleaning the bathroom to go ahead and organize under the sink. It was crazy under there

Everything was pretty much thrown in there. As I was going through things I realized that alot of the stuff under there was toiletries I got as gifts from my bridal shower. I have yet to use any of it so they will go to one of our church charities. So when I was done it looked like this

That handy tote under my sink was mostly to thank! It is a large organizing utility tote and they are amazing!! They are from Thirty-One and they run $25. It can hold so much! Day 1 of Organization

So I have been wanting to this ever since I saw this on Pinterest. There are alot of places in my home that need help and its all going to start with my shoes.

These pics are kinda of embarrassing but to get the full effect I must show them.

 

So this is the mess of my shoes. Alot of these shoes I have never wore. I did not count how many pairs but I got rid of alot. This was also way harder to do than I thought. I kept going back and forth on which ones to keep and which ones to donate. I kept some even though I know I will probably never wear them (ridiculous I know)..but I am just not ready to part with them yet. I have also made a deal with myselfto get rid of one pair of shoes when I buy a new pair.

This is what the finished product looks like

The boots are in the tote and all other shoes are in the organizer!

I feel good. The shoe situation had got out of control, now to see if I can keep it this way.

I am still thinking about what is next for day 2!
