Here & There

PLaying catch up again as usual! LOL

I have been busy as usual.

A couple Saturdays ago Craig and I went on a canoe trip with our church. It was fun, but I think it would be alot more fun with a much smaller crowd. With so many boats and so little rain we ended up running into people and getting stuck because it was so shallow, but it was still fun!

Yeah this is the only decent picture I got from the trip, lol oh well!

Later that week I had a phone interview with an insurance company about a possible position. If it is God's will I am really hoping this works out. It seems to be something that is up my alley. I hate working in a negative atmosphere so that has pushed me to look for opportunites elsewhere. When I came across the job it seemed to be for a reason! There are lots to do for this position and I have to get licensed and if it works out there is a 6 week training out of state. I still get to come home on weekends but I have never been away like that....ever but the hubs is very supportive to I'm hoping this works out!

This past weekend was not very eventful, lol a little grocery shopping and then we went to Verizon and switched our plan over to the unlimited everything! I am super excited about this because I talk on the phone...alot, and I hate having to call to see how many minutes are left. Now I wont have to...thanks Verizon best idea ever!

A friend and I went to the movies Sunday (you could probably guess what we saw) and on the way there got caught in a hail storm. It was pretty scary but we also thought it was a sign that maybe we shouldnt be going to the movies, lol. But we continued on anyway! Ha

We celebrated July 4th yesterday. It didn't feel the same without fireworks because of the drought but at least we got to watch some on tv. We went to my moms and had a cookout...well the food was but we stayed inside, lol. Then we watch Act of Valor. It was a very violent movie but also very sad. I cried a couple times but it still was a pretty good movie.

Today I am off..woo!  I am going to catch up on some reading because my to do list is small today!

This week...

I have accomplished quite a bit this past week and the most exciting part was I joined a gym! I go almost everyday after work except for Friday night, Sunday and which ever day I am off unless I am in town. Anytime fitness is in the town I work and there is one close to the town I live so I have no excuse! I really enjoy it so far. It does make for a long day but hopefully it will be worth it!

Last Saturday, the bestie and I went to see The Lucky One! Ahhh Zac Efron is such a cutie! lol I didnt think we were ever going to get to see it but there was a little town that had there local thatre playing only about 35 minutes away. It was very good, but important details from the book were different or added which bothers me, lol. So if you want to watch it dont read the book first because if you are like me you'll compare every detail, lol!

I had a busy work week then my brother came home for the weekend! Its always so nice to get to see him. We had a family dinner Friday night, Saturday we met for lunch and a little shopping then met again today for lunch, lol. Hopefully we are going to go visit him next month!

It's Sunday so we had our traditional Sunday nap!

We are still trying to figure out what we are doing about where we are going to build a house or buy one...I cant wait til something is decided because I am a planner and I need to plan!

What a Weekend

I've had such a great weekend!

I had today off too so it was an extra long weekend which was awesome!

Thursday my mom and I went to the Creation Museum which is about an hour and fifteen minutes from us.

I loved the museum. It was great to have everything from the Bible for us to see as it pertains to the world and how everything is and how it came to be. I believe everything in the Bible but to see it brought to life was amazing! I am definitely coming back. My favorite part was the planetarium. It showed how big the universe is and how insignificant we are in the universe but God decided to bring Jesus to us...its very humbling.

Here are a few more pics

These were scrolls of the Bible that are obciously very old. The top one was found with Saddam Hussein and the bottom was in Hitlers possession. It is crazy to think that such important and sacred scrolls were kept by some of the most evil men of our time.

A zorse and zonkey.

The garden outside was so beautiful!

Friday we had a family cookout at the park. There has been such great weather here...hot but very sunny.

Saturday after work I met my BF and we went to some yard sales. We didnt really find a whole lot, very dissappointing :/
Then we went to eat downtown and went to a play at our local theatre, "Steel Magnolias". It was alright.

This was the set before all the lights. The play was set in the beauty shop for the whole play. They made it work.

Sunday after church I went and picked my sisters to spend the night. We did a little shopping that night then  spent the day outside gardening and had a couple water fights too.

This is me and one of my sisters. Maddy decided she wanted no part of the water fight, lol!

So today I have rested and havent really done a whole lot.

It's been nice :)

I'm Back!

I have been a very bad blogger.

I have been very busy BUT I am going to get back into the swing of it.

So what have I been up to you ask?

*Ive squeezed in  a couple shopping outings with my besties :)

* A few weeks ago I had a jewelry party. A girl at work makes some really cool jewelry and I went a little crazy on the rings, lol

*The hubs, his grandma and I went to see Appasionatta. Its a horse show that tells a story and shows amazing tricks the horses can do. It was amazing and I want to go back next year when it returns.

*My brother promoted to a Staff Sergeant! It was very exciting and there was a ceremony so my family went to Ohio and stayed with him overnight. He has a two bedroom apartment and there were 9 people there, so needless to say it ws loud and crowded but it wa still fun!

He's the one with the red hair.

Him and his girlfriend (we pretty much love her).

                                                                     The Family

*We took my mom out for Mothers Day. We went to a mexican restaurant then to see Dark Shadows. It was kinda funny but weird but it does have Johnny Depp in it so its understandable lol. I got her a pink Bible and this huge card!

*That night I finished The Hunger Games series. I have yet to pick up another book. It takes you through such a long journey it is intense, nerveracking and emotional. This isnt one of those fairy tale stories or one that you will probably want to read again and again...they are amazing books but its hard to explain if you havent read them...all I have to say is UGHHH.

*Umm Dersperate Housewives is OVER!! Im so sad about this. It was one of my favorite shows :(

*Friday we went to see What to Expect When Your Expecting. It is soo funny I loved it, such a good movie!

*This past weekend the hubby and I had a date weekend lol. We went to Louisville and went to the mall and we did a little shopping and he didnt complain at all about! (He HATES shopping) So that made my day lol. Then we went to the Cheesecake Factory...mmmm I LOVE this place.

*Sunday after church we had our traditional Sunday nap lol then we met my bestie downtown to watch The Hunger Games. It was so different to watch it after reading the books because you know all the extra details. I also think the the hubs is hooked now :)

*Today my bestie and I started our womens devotional. It goes through 52 women in the Bible and each week one is studied. I really enjoy it so far!

Ok I think I am caught up!

I  will be a better blogger...promise!

Tuesday

Today I was off.

I got to watch KLG and Hoda..yay!
Then it was time to do all my errands...and I had a bunch and still did not get through them but some of them can wait.

Bills, bills, bills! Thats what it seemed like all I was doing, swipe here, swipe there, check here, etc.

I also had a dentist appointment today too. Filled three cavities and most of the time I go I am ok but this was not extremely pleasent. I was very happy when it was over.

So now that my half my mouth and tongue is numb I go to eat lunch with one of my besties. I dont get to see her a whole lot because of my work schedule but we always like to go to one of my favorite restaraunts, The Downtowner..yumm! I got to taste half of the meal, lol.

Afterwards we went to a flea market uptown and I found some great finds!!

This was only $8! I cant wait to do something with this...not sure yet but Ive seen many projects that involve a shutter so now I have one!

This was only $3!! I LOVE old fashioned dishes and this one matches my kitchen  so I had to have it!

I also got a hair cut so my hair is looking a little more healthier!

Biggest Loser and Dancing with the Stars on deck tonight!

Little bit of this, little bit of that!

So glad its the weekend!

Its been a long week, especially after having an extra long weekend last week.

Friday when I came home from work, this is what I saw on the couch

Yeah pretty pathetic lol.

We had a quiet Friday night. Popped in a frozen pizza and watching some of our season one of Parenthood! That is one of our favorite shows!

Saturday me and the hubs had to work til about noon so we came home took a nap and looked through some home catalogs. Hopefully this time next year we will be on our way to a new home! We found some homes we liked so we shall see!

That night we watched Warhhorse. I was not thrilled with watching it but I did anyways and it was so good! And sad and happy! It was also very long, almost 3 hours but it was worth it!

Today after church we resumed work on my flower bed. It was never finished from last year and I was sure it would be finished this year! The only thing left is to put some fertilizer and plant the seeds so hopefully it should be done by Tuesday! This is my first garden so I hope it turns out well!

Its pretty big for just flowers but I might find some bushes and a nursery in town this week!

So I finished Lucky One today!

I read most of it this weekend. Once I got through the first few chapters it went pretty quickly and the ending was unexpected and I had a slight heart attack for a second but it ended well and I cant wait to see it in a movie this weekend!!

So tonight I will start on the second Hunger Games book Catching Fire, this series is addicting!

Also I found these flowers on a tree while I was walking and thought they were so pretty!!

Any idea what they are?????

Birthday, surgery and BOOKS!

So I was going to blog about my birthday which was a week ago..ha well I got side tracked as usual!

It was pretty much just another day! It is true that the after 21 birthdays just come faster and they arent as fun! LOL.

Anyways all last week I was fretting about the oral surgery I was having on Friday!! AHH I was thinking the worst and when the day finally came I had my mom (thank goodness) The nurse was very nice to me and the Dr. was great! He even called me that night to check and make sure I was doing ok! It was a great experienced and as long as I took my meds I felt no pain! SO if I ever have to do it again I will not be nervous. Im just a big baby.

I had 4 days off altogether so I read the first hunger games!! Ahhh I loved it! There is so much more the movie didnt explain and it leaves you wanting more!! There is defintely and love triangle going on and I cant wait to see how everything turns out! So with me being passed out for a big part of the weekend and doing Easter activites, reading it in four days was fast for me!

Today I got my last birthday present in the mail..The Lucky One...I cant wait to start in this book! I am giving myself a few weeks just as long as it is read before the movie comes out so I can see it!

Oh and before I forget I read Hoda Kotb's biography. She is an amazing woman and I love her 100 times more tham I did before. She is inspiring, hillarious and REAL. She even has major problems with her hair...hahaha I totally relate! If you know who she is, read her book!

Sleepover!

Whoops!

I totally forgot to post about my sisters sleepover!

We had fun! Maddison helped me make supper and since we have all the just dance wii games, Brooke was singing along to the country one with "Achy Breaky Heart" hahahaha too funny!

Maddy helping me cook!

They both insisted on taking videos of everything with my phone so I have a bunch of crazy pictures and videos on my phone! After supper we watched tv then when Craig went to bed the girls wanted to watch Hocus Pocus. We had popcorn then they said can we have some icecream! SO they got icecream  with the works..HA!

They next morning we watched the Today Show then cleaned up. We went to toen to eat at Bob Evans...this is their favorite restaraunt and yes they had dessert too! LOL

They talked me into shopping so Brooke found a pretty dress at JC Penneys for Easter and Maddison insisted she wanted jewelry so I took her to Cato and she found two neckalces and bracelets...they were both happy!

Afterwards we went to the park and did a little hiking then played on the playground!!

Maddy posing with her new necklace!

Yesterday I had a cookout with my friends and family for my bday!! Food cooked on the grill tastes the best!! I had fun...for the most part....it had a few snags but other than that I had a lot of fun having everyone over!!

Late Night Movie

SO last night Tristan talked me into going to see The Hunger Games with her..the late show (past my bedtime lol) anyways it was so good! Now that I have seen the movie first I am hooked and I am going to read all the books once I am done with my Hoda book.

I didnt think I would like it...it is very different as well as gruesome and sad but there is something about it...I dont know what that just sucks you in.

So  basically Im saying go watch it!

Dinner and an Auction!

Work, work, work!

Its pretty much all I do.

I have been doing Zumba when I get home from work and it totally wears me out and I feel sick for the next 30minutes...lol. SO with all the pretty weather and the HUGE backyard we have I decided to just walk! So I walk for about a half hour to an hour depending on whats going on. It is so peaceful and relazing for the mind and I still get a great workout!

Today after work I got a quick nap in (since I get off at noon on Saturdays) then cleaned the house. I hate the sometimes all my free time is tied up in keeping this place looking spiffy..but I guess someone has to do it! lol So when the hubby came back from helping a friend we went to a Mexican restaraunt in town(I was not about to clean everything then have to dirty up the kitchen again).

It was sooo yummmy

Afterwards we went to an auction up the road from us. I wasn't thrilled with going but I was up for it. I found some great things!!

First a marble rolling pin....$6! They are ususally waayyyyy more expensive.

Next a box of super cute old fashioned looking dishes...a whole set for $2!!! I couldnt believe it!

Lastly an antique wooded chair. Im not sure what I am going to do with it yet but I had to have it! I got the feel of a real auction off with a fella sitting behind me..he wanted the chair too but I prevailed! $12 wasnt a bad deal at all!

We are gonna strip it and then see what kind fun we can have with it!
So altogether $20...it was like a flee market/garage sale mixed together and I love both of those so I guess its only natural I liked the auction!

My sisters are coming over tonight! I should have some funny stuff to blog about tomorrow!

Slacker

It's been almost 2 weeks since I've had a post!

Geez!

Not anything too exciting going on here. My organizing has not slacked but I have been going through the house to see what was left i needed to do and I came up with a list of 3

1. Spare bedroom
2. Laundry room
3. Craig's side of our bedroom.

My organizing has rubbed off on my hubby. He has some ideas he has been thinking of to help with these areas and they are not quick fixes but as soon as they are done I will post about them. We also tackled an area that I never thought we would ...our garage! I am so glad we did and we have more storage space now!

We got some not so good news this week about my husbands job. They have imposed a hiring freeze and will not follow through with these until the fall. This was a major letdown so it puts our timeline back to next year like originally planned. So we pray he can find a job soon.

Today the hubby and I went on a date! Lunch, shopping then home for popcorn and a scary movie! It was a great day and beautiful weather on top of it all!

Enjoy your weekend!!

Storms, Shopping and a Birthday Party!

First off I am so thankful that all of my friends and family were kept safe during the storms Friday afternoon. I was at work about 30 minutes away and it only rained with some wind. But I heard about tornado warnings around home so I frantically called my husband to make sure he was safe and were the storms coming in that direction. Thankfully the worst missed us but towns around us not even 15-20 miles south were demolished. The pictures and videos of the tornados that came through were terrifying. Everyone please continue to pray for all of the families who lost their homes and loved ones.

Too close to home.

Saturday my two besties, their little girls and I went shopping! We had so much fun! Our first stop was Olive Garden (of course), then we went to the mall then to a party store so I could get some Tangled decorations for my sisters Bday party.

Our last stop was Target! Love Target! They have the cutest stuff there.

The dollar bin has the best stuff! lol

T-A and I had some fun taking pics! lol

We also had to make a quick run to White Castle because some of our hubbys made some requests..lol. We didnt get back til almost 11:30 so needless to say the burgers were cold...but oh well we were having a girls day and we were NOT to be rushed :)

Sunday I cooked and straightened the house all morning. I was having a surprise party for my sisters! They still werent sure what was going on when they got here! lol

Heres some pics from the day!

^^ Favorite picture! Maddison is so animated! She got $10 and she waved it around (the pic where her hand is blurry  lol) unitl she realized it was not $100 but she said well Im still rich!!

They turned 9! They declared this was the best birthday ever!

Here are a few of the decorations too. I made some tissue pom poms I found on pinterest...it is such a cute idea! Then strung up some balloons (their fav colors of blue and pink went so well with Tangled) Then found a Tangled Happy birthday banner and of course napkins, plates, cups and tableclothe..lol!

P.S. I'll get back to organzing later this week!

Day 11

The hubs and I watched the Daytona 500 Sunday night so there was no organizing for me... Instead we talked about the house we want to build ( since Craig got the job we were praying for) we could possibly break ground on a new house this year! Super excited I hope it all works out!

Also I have been doing Zumba on our Wii. I will be the first to say...I hate to exercise...but I love the results and the feeling afterwards. Zumba kicks my butt and I only do twenty minutes of it (pretty embarrassing) and feel like passing out.

At my job all I do is sit! I need some activity and my body has told me this with tacking on some extra poundage I am not happy with so I am changing my eating habits and exercising!
Ok back to organization. Another area in my home that needed some help was my kitchen drawers. I realized this trying to go through and find..anything!

I had so many spoons, ladles, clips and measuring cups that I have never even used! So they went elsewhere. I do understand everyone has to have their "junk drawer" but it can still be organized where you can find things!

Here is there finished product

I separated the drawers into normal cooking ware, then one for baking then the "junk" drawer. I do want to find some little trays or baskets or some sort of separaters to make it even more organized!

I am confident I could find some at the Dollar Tree.

Anyways its time for American Idol..woo!
